345 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION is seeking an Engineer Apprentice (Student) in Norman, OK. This part-time role supports the Chief Engineer in workforce development, with training tasks including plan reviews, basic calculations, permits, modeling, and field inspection.

Level I requires OU enrollment in a bachelor’s program with GPA 2.5+, while Level II requires a master's/PhD target and completion of a bachelor’s degree. Benefits are provided with the position.

Qualifications

• Engineer Apprentice (Student) requirements include pursuing an OU degree in specified engineering majors and minimum GPA.
• Level I and Level II eligibility require different student standings and hours.
• Sponsorship for work visa is not available.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine engineering tasks under supervision.
• Review less complex plans and perform basic calculations.
• Write permits, run basic computer modeling, and inspect parts of projects.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Civil/Construction/Environmental Engineering

30 credit hours completed

Minimum 2.5 GPA

Master's or Doctorate in Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical/Structural/Transportation/Water Resources or Construction Management
