Job summary

Cadmus seeks candidates to support upcoming homeland security exercises programs for public and private sector clients, partners, and stakeholders. Successful candidates will support the design, execution, and evaluation of exercise programs across hazards including terrorism, cybersecurity, and natural disasters.

The team may also support policy assessment, policy research, professional writing, and strategic planning in homeland security or public policy fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, homeland security, national security, public policy, political science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in exercise planning, emergency management, homeland security, cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Foundational knowledge of emergency management or exercise planning principles.
• Strong research, analytical, organizational, and professional writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to review one’s own work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to travel domestically on occasion.
• U.S. Citizen able to obtain Public Trust clearance or DHS Suitability.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, conduct, and evaluation of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program exercises for the CISA.
• Assist with development of exercise objectives, scenarios, meeting materials, participant communications, facilitator materials, evaluation materials, and reports.
• Conduct background research and analyze information related to homeland security, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, emergency management, and exercise scenarios.
• Coordinate scheduling, participant tracking, document management, meeting support, and logistics.
• Support planning meetings, exercise delivery, facilitation, evaluation, and after-action activities with government and private-sector stakeholders.
• Capture meeting notes, decisions, action items, and feedback accurately.
• Draft and revise reports, presentations, and client deliverables using templates and style requirements.
• Perform quality-control reviews for grammar, formatting, and completeness.
