Job summary

CK Contractors and Development LLC is seeking an Entry Level Grading Equipment Operator to join our Southeast team. This role focuses on operating and maintaining bulldozers, excavators, rollers, backhoes, and off-road trucks to prepare sites for development.

The position requires 3–6 months of site grading or outdoor work experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work with others. Expect travel within a 70-mile radius of Charlotte and possible overtime.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of site grading or outdoor work experience.
• Ability to operate grading equipment (bulldozers, excavators, rollers, backhoes).
• Strong safety awareness and compliance with policies and standards.
• Ability to work with others and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to travel within the region and to work overtime when needed.
• Reliable transportation to attend scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment for site grading.
• Read site plans and verify grade according to plan.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and move loads safely.
• Perform pre- and post-checks and routine daily maintenance.
• Keep records of equipment usage and address issues.
• Follow safety guidelines to prevent hazards and injuries.
• Be prepared to relocate between job sites as project needs arise.
