Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. invites an Early-Career Environmental Engineer or Scientist to join our Chattanooga or Knoxville, TN office, applying academic knowledge to real-world site assessments and management projects.

You will perform field sampling, data analysis, and report preparation while supporting regulatory compliance, Phase I/II environmental due diligence, and brownfields redevelopment. Travel to client sites and collaboration with teams enable mentorship and growth.

Qualifications

2+ years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
Regular field work and overnight travel required.
Health & Safety training and medical monitoring provided by Geosyntec.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with good driving record for business travel.
Prior field sampling or research in contaminated media preferred.
Prior environmental consulting internship preferred.
Experience with ArcView and/or Microsoft Access preferred.

Responsibilities

Fieldwork including soil, groundwater, soil gas, and surface water sampling.
Vapor intrusion assessments and mitigation system design oversight.
Environmental due diligence (Phase I/II) and regulatory permitting support.
Data analysis with maps, tables, and figures; report preparation.
Brownfields redevelopment planning and contractor oversight during construction.
Work in a fast-paced environment with client deadlines and travel as needed.
Drive to client sites and project offices for field and site activities.
