Job summary

Howell Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in the RISE resource program at Challenger Elementary. The role involves 32.5 hours per week, working with students with ASD or those needing a small-group environment to build independence, under supervision of experienced teachers.

Responsibilities include aiding in classroom instruction, monitoring progress, implementing behavior plans, and maintaining positive communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to implement instructional strategies under supervision.
• Strong communication with students, families and staff.
• Ability to adapt materials for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support academic, social and emotional/behavioral goals.
• Assist in monitoring and implementing behavior plans and schedules.
• Assist with transitions, hallway navigation and classroom routines.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
• Attend in-service trainings and maintain regular attendance.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Two years of college (60 semester hours)

Associate’s Degree or higher
