Job description

As an S. Walter Packaging Group Company, LPI provides: Offset printing, Foil Stamping, Embossing, Digital Enhancement, Die Cutting, Folding and Gluing, Rigid Box manufacturing, and Fulfillment. This is an On-Site position at our New Berlin, WI facility. “Your Brand, Limitless Possibilities,” is our moto!

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience as a rigid box mechanic.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of machinery operation, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience in performing preventative maintenance, repairing machinery components and using a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and work collaboratively to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to organize work tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on rigid box machinery and related equipment.
  • This might include inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery components, as well as repairing or replacing damaged parts.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with machinery operation, ensuring machines run smoothly and efficiently. This may involve using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting procedures to identify and fix problems.
  • Setup and Operation: Assist in setting up new machinery lines, optimizing machine performance, and operating machinery according to production specifications. This may include calibrating machinery, making adjustments to ensure proper operation, and running initial batches to verify functionality.
  • Quality Control: Monitor production processes to ensure that rigid boxes meet quality standards and specifications. This may involve inspecting finished boxes for defects, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, machine performance, and any issues encountered during production.
  • Collaboration: Work with other team members, including operators, supervisors, and engineers, to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Training: Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills related to rigid box machinery and maintenance procedures.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for themselves and others.
  • Parts Inventory: Maintain an inventory of spare parts to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
