Job summary

Prudent Engineering is seeking a ROW Survey Technician to join our Right-of-Way team. You will support boundary analysis, property-line determinations, and the preparation of ROW and acquisition mapping across New York State.

Responsibilities include deed research, reviewing title documents, and preparing ROW maps in accordance with client requirements and NYSDOT/NYSTA standards. Occasional field verification may be required as part of project support.

Qualifications

• Experience in land surveying, boundary analysis, deed research, or ROW mapping.
• Working knowledge of metes-and-bounds descriptions, title documents, and property records.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and reconcile information from multiple sources.
• Proficiency with Carlson, CAD or civil design software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across disciplines, and manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

• Coordinate with field crews, mapping staff, licensed land surveyors, and project managers to resolve boundary and mapping questions.
• Prepare work in accordance with applicable client requirements and New York State agency standards, including NYSDOT, NYSTA, the New York State Canal Corporation, and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience preparing or reviewing ROW mapping for NYSDOT or another New York public agency.
• Familiarity with transportation survey deliverables and agency-specific mapping standards.
