Job summary

ERM in Atlanta, Georgia is hiring Right of Way (ROW) Agents to support natural gas transmission projects. You will acquire land rights, licenses, leases and other documents, and maintain detailed acquisition records for the construction and operation of facilities.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of ROW experience, a GA Real Estate license and notary, and are comfortable working in remote locations. This is a full-time, 12-month term position with potential extension, within ERM’s

  • Assist in establishing fair market values for land acquisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

ERM is hiring Right of Way (ROW) Agents in Atlanta, Georgia to support natural gas transmission project efforts. ROW Agents will be responsible for the acquisition of land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits and other documents necessary for the construction, operation and maintenance of facilities. This is a full-time, limited-term position with a duration of 12 months, extendable.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Conduct diverse and complex outreach and negotiations with land owners (or their designees) to secure easements, fee acquisition, licenses, and related property rights.
  • Document all landowner interactions and maintain complete acquisition records.
  • Search courthouse and other records to determine present property ownership(s) and the extent of interest therein.
  • Advise and assist in establishing a range of fair market values to be used in the acquisition of land and land rights.
  • Compliance with corporate health and safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Active Georgia Real Estate Salesperson or Broker License and in good standing.
  • Active Georgia Notary License.
  • Minimum of 3 years of ROW experience.
  • Previous Pipeline or Electric Transmission Experience preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, ArcGIS and data management software.
  • Knowledgeable in real estate values and accepted real estate appraisal practices.
  • IRWA membership a plus.
  • Ability to work in remote locations for long periods of time; Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism; Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.

Physical demands required for the successful performance of this job include standing and/or walking for long hours in a day on uneven and steep terrain, and possibly during variable weather conditions. Must meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions Analysis for Office and Field Positions.
