Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager for ROW and land acquisition projects in Idaho and the surrounding region. You will oversee land acquisitions, negotiations, titles, and surveys for utility projects, and manage project financials and client interaction.

Some travel is required. The role requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and the ability to lead in a team environment, with potential evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Minimum 7 years related experience (10 years preferred).
• Active Idaho Real Estate Broker’s License preferred.
• IRWA membership or SR/WA designation preferred.
• Prior Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience required, preferably in a consulting firm.
• Ability to interpret title and appraisal reports and land surveys.
• Knowledge of general real estate law and title work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors and clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and complex data management in databases.

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager for ROW and land acquisition projects in Idaho and the surrounding region. This individual will provide project oversight for land acquisitions, negotiations, property research, titles and surveys in support of utility-related projects, as well as responsibility over project financials and client interaction. Some travel will be required.

This position will serve as the Right of Way/Real Estate lead for multiple major utility infrastructure improvement projects. The candidate must have the ability to think strategically, keep informed about project activities through study and participation in project meetings, manage and work well in a team environment, have excellent task management skills, a proven ability to communicate professionally, have a flexible schedule, and be willing to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed. The successful candidate will be a talented seller-doer and be able to initiate and assist with client development and maintenance, and will assume a lead role in sales presentations, proposal preparation, and project execution.

Knowledge and experience working in Idaho and having electric/gas utility experience a preferred.

Duties include:

• Direct coordination with client’s Right-of-Way department and internal staff.
• Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
• All other duties as assigned.

• International Right of Way Association (IRWA) membership or SR/WA designation preferred.
• Prior Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience required, preferably in a consulting firm.

• Knowledge of general real estate law.
• Knowledge of real estate title work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers and other professionals.
• Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience managing complex data in databases.
• Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
