Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging is seeking an experienced full-time Rigger in Atlanta to support crane operations and rigging activities on job sites. You will load and secure equipment, assist with crane setup, and ensure safe lifting through proper hand signals and rigging techniques.

Safety and compliance are emphasized in daily tasks. The role requires 1-3 years of rigging experience and an Advanced Rigger certification, with driving duties and vehicle maintenance as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of rigging experience required.
• Commercial driving experience preferred.
• Advanced Rigger certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist crane operator in proper setup of equipment.
• Maintain crane and accessory equipment (trucks, trailers, etc.).
• Perform proper rigging techniques for safe lifting of loads.
• Use hand signals during crane operations.
• Secure equipment to trailers before operating the truck.
• Inspect truck and trailer and file inspection reports.
• Report mechanical defects to supervisor or shop.
• Monitor inventory of chains, boomer, and straps.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain rigging gear.
• Document maintenance and repairs to supervisor.
• Monitor annual State inspections and licenses and notify ahead of expiration.
• Report to Dispatcher upon completion of tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
