Southway Crane & Rigging LLC is offering a Rigger training program to train and grow within the crane and rigging industry. The program includes about 12 weeks of classroom instruction, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with field days on Fridays after the first month.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a TWIC card, and must be able to pass a drug screen and background check to join the program.

Job description

Summary: Southway Crane & Rigging LLC, is looking for qualified individuals to train and grow within the crane and rigging industry. A Rigger will have some knowledge of crane operations, basic math, and safety and accident prevention. The classroom portion of the program will last approximately 12 weeks. Classes will be Monday – Friday 8am- 5 pm. Following approximately 1 month of class; Fridays will be field days.

• How to determine a load's weight
• How to determine a load's center of gravity
• How to select proper sling and rigging hardware
• The effect of sling angles
• The proper methods of safe load securing

• How to inspect rigging equipment
