Position Summary

Plan, layout, and install all necessary rigging components for lifting and installing equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, etc., in accordance with all plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and structures.
• Shakeout items to be installed into erectable sequence and rigging for crane hoisting, using proper crane signals.
• Guide rigged items into position using a tag line.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities; determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate work for compliance, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Select rigging components and develop basic rigging procedures for load handling.
• Identify suitable rigging points and select rated rigging based on tension.
• Maintain understanding of LHE dynamics and hazards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge and skills related to the position.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Proficient in safe use of electrical, hand, power, and measurement tools.

Requirements

• Constant movement around construction sites; ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crawl, etc.
• Work in outdoor conditions, sometimes in adverse weather.
• Work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.
• Use ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical platforms to access work areas.
• Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces.
• Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
• Move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Possess required tools; driver's license may be required.
• Adhere to safety and project rules; pass drug, medical, and background checks.
