Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Rigger to join our staff located at Houston, TX. They must be able toassemble rigging to lift and move various equipment and materials to and from industrial work areas by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Select cables, ropes, pullups, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to the weight and size of the load to be moved.
  • Attach pullups and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole boom with bolts and clamps.
  • Assembles and disassembles cranes.
  • Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle.
  • Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wire rope, and chains to crane hook.
  • Gives direction to operators engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and material handled using hand signals and radios.
  • Sets up, braces, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
  • Responsible for observing and monitoring others' observance of all safety rules.
  • Maintain current certifications to meet regulations.
  • Forklift experience on Extend-a-boom, all-terrain, and 32000-pound rate forklift (Big)
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

  • Experience – 5+ years of Journeyman level experience.

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • NCCCO Rigging Level II or NCCER Advanced Gold
  • Valid Driver's License
  • TWIC Card & TWIC PIN #.
  • Meet physical demands as listed above
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
  • Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
