Job description

Seeking dependable individuals for Rigger positions in our Heavy Rigging Division, located in Covington, GA. Experience is preferred, but not required. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role primarily involving the rigging, lifting, moving, and positioning of large transformers and other extremely heavy equipment using specialized rigging systems, including hydraulic jacking and sliding equipment.

Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with the rigging, lifting, moving, and positioning of large transformers and other heavy equipment
• Working with hydraulic jacking systems, jack-and-slide equipment, hydraulic gantry systems, and other specialized heavy rigging equipment
• Assisting with loading, unloading, and positioning oversized and extremely heavy loads
• Setting up and dismantling rigging equipment
• Working at electrical substations and other outdoor heavy rigging job sites
• Performing physically demanding work in varied weather conditions and job site environments

Requirements:

• Must currently hold a valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs. without assistance throughout the work shift
• Ability to work in various outdoor conditions
• Must be available for frequent out-of-town travel to our job sites
• Working schedules may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays
• Must currently live within a 45–60 minute (one-way) drive of our Covington, GA location
• Previous experience with heavy rigging, transformer moving, hydraulic jacking, or jack-and-slide operations is preferred, but not required
• Experience with Goldhofer/SPMT equipment is a plus, but not required
• Familiarity with operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and other job-related equipment is preferred, but not required
