GELOCK in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a Rigger & Driver for full‑time work moving and installing heavy equipment regionally. You will operate powered industrial equipment, rigging gear, and crane components, while maintaining safe, efficient operations and strong customer relations.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid license (Class A CDL strongly preferred), and hands‑on rigging/moving experience. Expect a fast‑paced team environment with daily field duties and safety‑first focus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, troubleshoot, and communicate status to the Operations Team.
• Maintain safe, timely deliveries and adapt to changing priorities.

What You’ll Do:

This full‑time role offers a blend of safely operating powered lift trucks, telehandlers, articulating and scissors lifts, and supporting rigging operations to move, load, and install heavy equipment across the region. In this role, you’ll:

• Operate powered industrial equipment and assist with transportation of heavy equipment and materials to and from job sites.
• Cultivate relationships with coworkers and customers, prepare loads, secure equipment and rigging for safe transport each day, and pivot with each daily opportunity.
• Assist with setting up and operating rigging equipment such as forklift trucks, tele‑handlers, hydraulic lift systems, cranes, and mobile gantries.
• Deliver on‑the‑spot solutions, troubleshoot, and provide equipment maintenance to keep operations running smoothly, communicating status to the Operations Team and foreman, and reporting any delays or issues.
• Use safe driving skills and knowledge of lift trucks, tele‑handlers, hydraulic lift systems, and rigging tools to ensure timely and dependable delivery. You’ll lift, carry, and move equipment or materials weighing up to 75 lbs. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required; a Class A CDL is strongly preferred.
• Enjoy active, out‑and‑about work, adapt quickly to changing priorities, multitask, conduct general equipment inspections, and keep vehicles clean and organized.
• Apply previous mechanical or rigging experience and desire to grow equipment knowledge.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required, Class A CDL strongly preferred.
• Prior rigging and/or moving heavy equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and conceptual understanding of mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of advanced rigging principles.
• Knowledge and ability to use lift trucks, tele‑handlers, hydraulic lift systems, and rigging tools.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute written work instructions.
• Skill in using machinist levels, power tools, and hand tools.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and job conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to maintain a respectful, customer‑oriented approach in all interactions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
