Job Title

Rigger (Baytown, TX)

Overview

The jobsite in Baytown, TX has an opening for a Rigger.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials using mechanical equipment
  • Attaching loads using chains, slings, cables, hooks, and other related equipment
  • Manually handling and securely applying rigging equipment
  • Attaching and detaching loads effectively
  • Monitoring and maintaining all rigging equipment
  • Communicating effectively with the rigging team (other riggers and crane operator)
  • Familiarity with standard crane hand signals
  • Assessing weights of loads and determining required lifting equipment

Physical Demands
  • Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
  • Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day; breaks are given in 2.5 hour intervals
  • Using arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
  • Using hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 1.5 years of experience as a rigger or ironworker
  • NCCER Rigger Certification Level 1
  • Following company safety procedures and industry best practices
  • Knowledgeable of crane signals (hand and verbal)
  • Travel available for extended periods away from home in remote areas
  • Availability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week when required by project schedule demands
  • Ability to meet all physical demands of the job
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
  • 3+ years previous experience as an ironworker or rigger
  • NCCER Rigger Certification Level 2+
