Overview
The jobsite in Baytown, TX has an opening for a Rigger.
Core Responsibilities
- Lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials using mechanical equipment
- Attaching loads using chains, slings, cables, hooks, and other related equipment
- Manually handling and securely applying rigging equipment
- Attaching and detaching loads effectively
- Monitoring and maintaining all rigging equipment
- Communicating effectively with the rigging team (other riggers and crane operator)
- Familiarity with standard crane hand signals
- Assessing weights of loads and determining required lifting equipment

Physical Demands
- Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
- Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
- Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day; breaks are given in 2.5 hour intervals
- Using arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
- Using hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools
Basic Qualifications
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a rigger or ironworker
- NCCER Rigger Certification Level 1
- Following company safety procedures and industry best practices
- Knowledgeable of crane signals (hand and verbal)
- Travel available for extended periods away from home in remote areas
- Availability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week when required by project schedule demands
- Ability to meet all physical demands of the job
What Will Put You Ahead
- Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
- 3+ years previous experience as an ironworker or rigger
- NCCER Rigger Certification Level 2+
