Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation is hiring an experienced Rig Welder for Austin, TX. You will perform high-quality welding on heavy equipment and structures in an industrial setting, reading blueprints and WPS, and operating welding equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires 5+ years of verifiable rig welding experience, proficiency in SMAW/FCAW/GTAW, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Rig Welder in an industrial or heavy construction setting.
• Current welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1) are highly preferred.
• Proficiency in SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Experience with pipe welding and structural welding.
• Familiarity with various metal types and their welding requirements.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and man lifts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and in various weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using SMAW, FCAW, GTAW on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
• Operate and maintain welding equipment (welders, grinders, cutting torches).
• Prepare workpieces by cleaning, grinding, and fitting.
• Conduct visual weld inspections for quality and compliance.
• Perform repairs and modifications to structures and equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and trades.
• Complete paperwork related to work performed.
