Job summary

Optimized Process Designs LLC (OPD) in Baytown, TX seeks a Rig Welder for a Mont Belvieu-based jobsite. You will weld piping and related equipment per specs, read drawings, and operate welding tools in a safety-focused environment.

Requires ASME IX 6G, SMAW/GTAW tests, 100% x-ray quality welds, and 5 years of welder experience in gas plants or similar settings. Strong teamwork and on-site leadership are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Must pass ASME Section IX 6G pipe test (SMAW & GTAW) and AWS D1.1 plate test.
• Welds must be 100% x-ray quality and meet ASME B31.3.
• 5 years of welder experience in gas plant construction.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings, take measurements, read isometrics, and install piping efficiently.
• Weld pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment per specifications.
• Operate tools and equipment including grinders, torches, drills, and welding machines.
• Possess skilled knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, etc., as required.
• Work with minimal supervision and be part of a safety-focused team.
