Job summary

Nabors is seeking a field technician to troubleshoot and commission rig control systems on drilling rigs across the assigned region. The role requires analyzing issues, reporting to management, and multi-tasking in a high-demand environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with 4–7 years in drilling, is fluent in English, and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Expect extensive travel and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 4–7 years experience in the drilling industry.
• Must be computer literate, able to analyze and report to management, and multitask.
• Fluent in English; read/write, comprehend instructions, write memos.

Responsibilities

• Assist higher level tech with troubleshooting rig control systems.
• Assist higher level tech with commissioning rig control systems.
• Troubleshoot simple electrical issues on rig control systems.
• Commission generators and fix complex issues with generator controls and VFD drives.
• Calibrate sensors via HMI and program generator control components.
• Extensive travel to customer locations (land and offshore).
• Provide 24-hour on-call technical support during rotation.
• Maintain tools and ensure safety, documentation and billing are timely.
