Job summary

Nbutexas in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Ride Maintenance Manager to own ride and attraction maintenance operations across the park. You will lead the Ride Mechanical and Ride Electrical teams, champion safety and accountability, and set the strategy to maximize ride availability and guest safety.

This hands-on leadership role requires working in a unionized, high-reliability setting, overseeing budgets, capital projects, and vendor relations, with opportunities for advancement into director-level

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience.
  • Experience supervising skilled technical teams in unionized environments.
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, inspections and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Ride Mechanical and Ride Electrical maintenance teams with clear performance expectations.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, corrective, and seasonal maintenance programs per specifications and regulations.
  • Direct troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems to restore ride availability.
  • Ensure OSHA, ASTM and safety program compliance including lockout/tagout and electrical safety.
  • Investigate ride incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets; manage vendor/contractor relationships.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, and Public Safety leadership to align maintenance with ride readiness and guest experience goals.

Job description

Join our team as the Ride Maintenance Manager and take full ownership of ride and attraction maintenance operations across a major regional amusement and water park. Reporting directly to park maintenance leadership, you will lead the Ride Mechanical and Ride Electrical teams, drive a culture of safety and accountability, and set the operational strategy that maximizes ride availability, reliability, and guest safety.

This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance leader who has experience managing skilled technical teams in a unionized, high-reliability environment, and who wants to lead a meaningful operational turnaround, as well as build long-term career growth with a company that offers advancement into director and above-property leadership roles.

Ride Maintenance Manager | What You Will Do
  • Lead and develop the Ride Mechanical and Ride Electrical maintenance teams, setting clear performance expectations and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee preventative, predictive, corrective, and seasonal maintenance programs for all rides and attractions in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Direct troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems to restore ride availability and prevent repeat failures
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, ASTM, and all applicable safety programs including lockout/tagout, fall protection, confined space, and electrical safety
  • Investigate ride-related incidents and equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement lasting corrective actions
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, oversee vendor and contractor relationships, and support capital planning and ride rehabilitation projects
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, and Public Safety leadership to align maintenance priorities with daily ride readiness and guest experience goals
Ride Maintenance Manager | What You Bring
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance leadership experience, with at least 3 years supervising skilled technical teams
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
  • Direct experience administering collective bargaining agreements and managing labor relations in a unionized environment
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification, or ability to obtain
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, inspections, and regulatory compliance in a high-reliability or complex operational environment
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on-call situations during peak season
