Job summary

Baystate Interpreters, Inc. is seeking dedicated ASL interpreters who are RID certified to join as 1099 independent contractors across the North East region. The role involves on-site and remote interpreting in education, medical, legal, and community settings.

The ideal candidates are flexible, reliable, and culturally aware, with per diem rates and opportunities to grow in medical, legal, and educational interpretation.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in American Sign Language and RID certification.
• Independent contractor status (1099) without sponsorship.
• Residency in North East USA (EST Time Zone only).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Baystate Interpreters, Inc. policies on information security, HIPAA, and confidentiality.
• Provide accurate onsite and virtual interpretation between ASL and English.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client-specific procedures.
• Uphold confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality, and cultural competence in every assignment.
• Establish and maintain professional interactions with patients, customers, healthcare providers, and staff.
• Continuously improve specialized vocabulary in medical, legal, and community interpretion.
