Summary of Position

Guest satisfaction in our restaurant revolves around the food quality, appearance, and overall dining experience. The line cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in their assigned station.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
  2. Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment. Minimizes waste of product.
  3. Follows sanitary food handling and preparation procedures.
  4. Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary, timely, and efficient manner.
  5. Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the Corporate Chef and Executive Chef.
  6. Properly uses and maintains all equipment in the assigned station.
  7. Assists with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas; handles, stores, and rotates products properly.
  8. Performs other duties as requested by the Culinary Management team.
  9. Closes the kitchen properly, following the closing checklist, and assists others in closing the kitchen.

Job Qualifications

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in kitchen preparation and cooking; 6 months in a similar role preferred.
  3. Skills: Knowledge of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  4. Certificates/Licenses: ServeSafe training preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Clear communication with managers, kitchen, and dining room staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a standing position for long periods.
  • Follow recipes and plate specifications.
  • Maintain personal hygiene standards.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Work late nights, early mornings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Work in hot, humid, loud environments.
  • Remain calm and work well under pressure.
