Summary of Position

Maintain excellent customer service in its atmosphere, to ensure guest satisfaction and a future return. Server assistants perform their jobs daily, requiring attention to detail, an efficient pace, and assistance in minimizing waste and spillage.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide guests with water, coffee/tea, and bread service throughout the meal.
• Remove used and unneeded dishes and glassware from guests' tables to the dish area; scrape and stack dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations; clean up spills, broken dishes; remove empty bottles and recycle/trash.
• Re-set all tables in the assigned section as guests depart; assist servers as needed; respond promptly to guest requests and communicate with servers immediately.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned by management.
• Monitor and observe guests' dining experience. Ensure guest satisfaction with food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to requests.
• Assist fellow staff members as situations arise.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.

Job Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Previous experience in full-service restaurants is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate and understand English fluently, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work standing for long periods.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance, including dependable transportation.
• Honesty, integrity, good hygiene, coordination, efficiency, organization, and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a team and with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
