Job summary

McAngus Goudelock & Courie LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking attorneys to join our Litigation team. The role offers remote/hybrid options after training, with an emphasis on civil litigation from inception to trial and direct client contact.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years of practice experience, must be licensed in Virginia or have pending Virginia bar results, and will contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced environment with opportunities for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia or pending Virginia bar results.
• 1–5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.
