Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Rheumatology Sales Consultant I/II/Sr. to drive product adoption in the Pittsburgh area. The role involves implementing sales and marketing plans, engaging with clinics, rheumatologists, and allied health professionals, and supporting hospital programs.

Overnight travel and some weekend duties are expected. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and several years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with specific Rheumatology exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience; 2+ years of Specialty/Rheumatology experience preferred.
• Strong communications skills are required to perform the job satisfactorily.
• Ability to travel with overnights and attendance at some weekend programs.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and any other relevant applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains product knowledge and selling skills to influence targeted health care professionals.
• Establishes and maintains communication with internal colleagues.
• Develops clinic and customer pre-call plans to address HCP needs and opportunities.
• Identifies business needs and develops plans with senior BI staff.
• Analyzes territory information to optimize HCP calls.
• Develops plans to maximize regional and national speaker programs.
• Uses sales data to plan activity and maintains records.
