Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH, invites applications for the Division Director of Rheumatology. We seek an accomplished clinician with leadership and scholarly activity to advance clinical care, education, and research within a growing academic program affiliated with Case Western Reserve University.

The Director will collaborate with the Chair of Medicine to enhance missions, recruit and mentor faculty, and promote program development while maintaining exemplary patient care and safety

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and ABIM board certification in Rheumatology with Ohio license.
• Minimum 5–7 years in a leadership role in an academic institution at Associate Professor level or higher.
• Defined clinical niche with participation in scholarship/investigational activities.
• Strong leadership, managerial, and faculty recruitment/retention skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities for clinical and non‑clinical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Rheumatology Division with outstanding clinical care and service to patients and referring providers; promote clinical trial enrollment.
• Develop a faculty development plan identifying sub-specialty strengths for program growth.
• Oversee faculty recruitment and retention; participate in Department of Medicine leadership to meet goals.
• Provide leadership of the academic enterprise and support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
• Contribute to teaching for fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Represent the division in collaboration with the Chair of Medicine and the Case Western Reserve affiliate program.
