Job summary

The University of Chicago's BSD Rheumatology section seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator 1 to support PI-led trials within the Biological Sciences Division. You will coordinate daily trial activities, manage compliance, and assist with financial and personnel aspects.

Responsibilities include screening, enrollment, adverse event reporting, consent documentation, protocol submissions, patient education, site visits, and coordination with sponsors, IRB, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• College or university degree in a related field is required.
• Less than 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
• Clinical research experience or relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of trials including enrollment and adverse event reports.
• Maintain documentation: informed consent, IRB approvals, CRFs and drug logs.
• Plan patient schedules for procedures and visits.
• Ensure SOPs are implemented per sponsor and regulatory specs.
• Prepare protocol submissions and revisions.
• Educate patients on procedures, visits, and potential side effects.
• Attend site visits with sponsors and study meetings.
• Recruit and interview potential study patients; may handle specimens.
