Job summary

PAGNY seeks a per diem rheumatologist to join NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. This role covers comprehensive rheumatologic care with opportunities in lupus and arthritis clinics, ultrasound assessments, and inpatient consults.

Ideal candidates hold board certifications in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, possess a NY state license, and may have ultrasound training. Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive rheumatologic care, including evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling, referrals, and longitudinal follow-up.
• Educate, supervise, and mentor trainees and collaborate with advanced practice providers.
• Participate in lupus, ultrasound-assisted arthritis clinics, and inpatient consults.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, department meetings, and scholarly activities.
• Contribute to patient access, workflow, and care protocols, and participate in 1–2 research projects annually.

Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a per diem Rheumatologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women's health. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details

• Provide comprehensive rheumatologic care, including patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling, referrals, and longitudinal follow-up.
• Educate, supervise, and mentor trainees and collaborate with advanced practice providers.
• The division includes active lupus clinics, joint pain clinics with ultrasound evaluation, arthritis clinics, and inpatient consultative coverage.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, departmental meetings, and faculty development activities.
• Support initiatives to improve patient access, clinical workflow, quality of care, patient experience, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to the development and revision of clinical programs, policies, and care protocols.
• Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities, with an expectation of participating in 1-2 research projects annually.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Internal Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
• Active New York State medical license.
• Ability to speak Spanish preferred, but not required.
• Ultrasound training preferred, but not required.

Per Diem Rate

• Permanent sessional rate $106.77* per hour
• Enhanced sessional rate: $225.00* per hour
