Job summary

Glass Lewis, a global leader in governance research, is seeking a skilled RFP Writer to develop clear, persuasive response documents for clients and prospects. This hybrid, full-time role is based in Kansas City and requires strong editorial and project-management skills.

You will own end-to-end RFP processes, collaborate with sales, legal, finance, and product teams, and maintain a content library of standard answers while ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional writing experience, preferably in proposal development, technical writing, or grant writing.
• Exceptional written communication, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, extreme attention to detail, and proven project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end RFP project including coordination with internal SMEs, timelines, deliverables, document and requirement management, and final presentation preparation.
• Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and Security Questionnaires from institutional investors to extract technical, security, and compliance requirements and understand evaluation criteria.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product Management, Client Success, Marketing, and SMEs to gather information and translate into clear, value-driven responses.
• Draft executive summaries, technical approaches, and cover letters while editing content from team members.
• Own and maintain a centralized content library of standard answers, templates, and past proposals.
• Ensure final submissions adhere to brand guidelines, style rules, and client submission requirements.
• Support Sales Enablement by building and maintaining a library of enablement materials.

Glass Lewis is seeking a RFP (Request for Proposal) Writer to create clear, persuasive, and compliant response documents to win contracts and new business. This role combines project management, strategic messaging, and technical editing. In this role, you will articulate our leading Corporate Governance and ESG solutions to global asset owners, asset managers and other financial institutions. This role combines technical understanding, knowledge of financial services and corporate governance, and exceptional persuasive writing to help drive our B2B growth. This position is well suited for someone looking to build a career in financial services sales or client service. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate exceptional organization and communication skills, have an interest in Corporate Governance and ESG issues, and have the desire and ability to learn quickly. This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring regular office attendance (3x per week) at our downtown Kansas City office.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years of professional writing experience, preferably focusing on proposal development, technical writing, or grant writing.
• Skills: Exceptional written communication, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, extreme attention to detail, and proven project management abilities under tight deadlines.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and modern proposal automation or AI-assisted software.

Job Responsibilities

• Project Management: Own end-to-end RFP project including coordination with internal subject matter experts (SME), internal timeline and deliverables, document and requirement management, and final presentation preparation.
• Analyze RFPs: Thoroughly review incoming Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Information (RFIs), and Security Questionnaires from institutional investors to extract technical, security, and compliance requirements and understand key evaluation criteria.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with sales, finance, legal, product management, client success, marketing and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather accurate information and insights and translate complex capabilities into clear, value-driven answers.
• Write and Edit: Draft executive summaries, technical approaches, and cover letters while editing content contributed by other team members.
• Own and Manage Content Library: Maintain and update a centralized database of standard answers, templates, and past proposals.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that final submissions adhere strictly to brand guidelines, style rules, and client submission requirements.
• Sales Enablement Support: Collaborate with commercial and product teams to build and maintain a library of enablement materials.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this permanent, full-time role is between $60,000 - 70,000 USD. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, and a 401k that starts four months after the hire date.
