Job summary

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with RF/mmW IC focus.
  • Minimum GPA 3.3; strong academic performance.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and ADE simulation.
  • Familiarity with layout, DRC, LVS and parasitic extraction.
  • Exposure to RF measurement equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design of mmWave RF blocks (LNAs, PAs, phase shifters).
  • Model active devices and electromagnetic aspects for HF RF designs.
  • Meet performance targets while managing size, cost and power.
  • Collaborate on schematics, simulations and lab data.
  • Work with test equipment to compare simulations with real data.

Qorvo’s RFIC Design Engineering Internshipsare offered in our Global Operations business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Contributingto the design of multiple functional blocks including millimeter-wave (mmW) LNAs, PAs, Phase Shifters, Attenuators, Switches, Supporting Analog and Interface circuitry in state of the art CMOS and RFSOI technologies
  • Activedevice and electromagnetic modeling for high-frequency designs
  • Meeting performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, power dissipation and schedule
  • Working as a member of a team to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data
  • Working with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated data to real lab data

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on RF/mmW IC design
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and ADE Simulation Environment
  • Experience with Cadance Layout, DRC, LVS, and parasitic extraction
  • Familiarity with EDA tools such as ADS, HFSS, EMX
  • Exposure to digital design flow (RTL, synthesis, place and route, timing closure) is a plus
  • Tape-out experience preferred
  • Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self-Starter with good communication skills
  • Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
  • Strong writtenand verbal communication skillsto conveycomplex technical information
  • Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products
  • Ability to enjoy working in fast paced, collaborative work environment

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.

Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
