Job summary

Qorvo is offering an RFIC Design Engineering Intern position in Chelmsford, MA. You will work on mmWave circuit blocks and contribute to design, simulation, and lab verification across CMOS/BiCMOS/RFSOI technologies.

You will gain exposure to RF measurement, modeling, and hands-on lab work, collaborating with engineers and mentors. This internship targets MS/PhD students with a strong academic record and a drive to innovate in high-frequency IC design.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering focusing on RF/mmW IC design.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3.
  • Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred.
  • Software exposure: ADS, Cadence, HFSS, EMX.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Self-Starter with good communication skills.
  • Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information.
  • Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products.
  • Ability to enjoy working in fast paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design of multiple functional blocks including mmWave LNA, PA, VCO, mixers, phase shifters, attenuators, switches, and related circuitry across CMOS/BiCMOS/RFSOI technologies.
  • Perform active-device and electromagnetic modeling for high-frequency designs.
  • Meet performance targets while considering size, cost, footprint, and power dissipation.
  • Collaborate with team to develop design schematics, simulations, and lab data.
  • Operate signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulations with measurements.

Qorvo’s RFIC Design Engineering Internshipsare offered in our High Performance Analog business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Contributingto the design of multiple functional blocks including millimeter-wave (mmW) LNAs, PAs, VCOs, mixers, Phase Shifters, Attenuators, Switches, Supporting Analog and Interface circuitry in state of the art CMOS, BiCMOS, and RFSOI technologies
  • Activedevice and electromagnetic modeling for high-frequency designs
  • Meeting performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, power dissipation and schedule
  • Working as a member of a team to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data
  • Working with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated data to real lab data
Qualifications:

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.

Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
