Overview

RF Test Engineer, Radar Systems, Travel Required at Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII). This role resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division.


Job Details


  • Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH (on-site with travel)

  • Travel: Up to 25% (mostly CONUS). Deployment times typically two to three weeks.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time / Exempt

  • Security Clearance: Secret required to start; TS/SCI may be required to obtain through advanced checks

  • Seniority level: Mid-Senior level

Responsibilities


  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses span test, installation, and operation levels.

  • Properly employ test assets in dynamic, customer-driven tests; conduct functional and timeline analyses.

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of testing philosophies and methodologies within an agile testing environment.

  • Collaborate with lab facilities to support test execution, data collection, and reporting as needed.



Minimum Qualifications


  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 0 years with a Master's degree in a related field.

  • Interest in Radar or Electronic Warfare System design and/or testing.

  • Experience with RF chain analysis and radar system performance analysis and all aspects of test execution.

  • Interest in EW and Radar Signal Processing Techniques, Sensor System Integration and Test, and tools for Electronic Warfare and Radar Performance Analysis (e.g., MATLAB).

  • Hands-on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities with skills in algorithms, software, hardware, and networking.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience with RF test support equipment in lab and field use (e.g., Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators).

  • Basic understanding of hazards associated with RF radiation.

  • Ability to contribute to technical publications by developing test plans, procedures, and reports.

  • Ability to provide technical and functional leadership by identifying risk.

  • Willingness to travel for extended periods; deployment typically two to three weeks.

  • Physical ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs; able to work outside in adverse weather.

  • Up to 25% travel, mostly CONUS.



Clearance


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with advanced security checks

  • Secret clearance minimum to start



Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.

The listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on role location, expectations, and responsibilities. When extending an offer, HII's Mission Technologies division considers factors including role function, candidate education or training, work experience, and key skills. Salary range: $62,444.00 - $88,124.00.
