Job summary

Elve Speed Inc. in Davis, CA and San Francisco, CA is seeking an RF Test Automation Engineer to develop and automate RF test procedures and the software frameworks that support production and engineering testing.

The ideal candidate combines RF fundamentals with software development in Python and C++, hands-on experience with VNAs and spectrum analyzers, and a collaborative approach to improve test coverage and throughput.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals and common RF parameters.
• Hands-on experience using RF test equipment such as VNAs and spectrum analyzers.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for test automation.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Knowledge of software debugging, logging, and error handling.

Responsibilities

• Develop RF test procedures based on engineering and product requirements.
• Automate RF testing using reusable and maintainable software frameworks.
• Develop and maintain test software, including data acquisition, processing, logging, and reporting.
• Interface with RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters.
• Troubleshoot issues spanning test software, instrumentation, test setups, and RF hardware.
• Partner with RF, test, manufacturing, and product engineers to improve test coverage, repeatability, and throughput.
• Implement debugging, logging, and version control practices.
• Prepare for and participate in live customer product demonstrations.
• Document test methods, software, and results clearly for engineering and production users.
