Job summary

Tri-Co Communications Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair critical communications systems in Ocala and Lecanto, Florida. You will support public safety customers with 24/7 operations and conduct maintenance checks.

Job Title

Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Implant, maintain, and repair business‑critical and mission‑critical communications at subscriber and infrastructure levels.
• Implement Motorola Solutions' two‑way communications products.
• Optimise and support complex communication systems.
• Attend and participate in large‑scale preventative maintenance checks on end‑user vehicles and communication equipment.
• Support on‑call 24/7/365 operations for public safety customers.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Communications System Technician.
• Experience with P25 Systems, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks, and subscriber equipment.
• Installation of mobile radios into vehicle, rack equipment, and custom configurations.
• Run cables throughout buildings.
• Remove and install antenna systems on exterior of buildings.
• Experience installing camera/security system is a plus.
• Pass and maintain background checks, obtain security clearances, and possess a clean driving record.
• Be available on‑call 24/7/365.
• Highly computer literate with proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Gmail, Sheets, Docs).
• Strong self‑management and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with Motorola customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Self‑motivated and able to perform duties at a distance from direct supervision.
• Ability to solve customer problems quickly in stressful situations.
• Experience in configuration and testing of Motorola's two‑way radio and subscriber products.
• FCC license and industry certifications such as ETA are a plus.
