Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a physicist, mathematician or engineer to help develop algorithms and assess the performance of RF sensor systems for land, air and sea-launched interceptors. You will influence sensor algorithm development and work with dedicated teams on missile defense challenges.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in electrical engineering, applied math, physics, or related field.
  • Knowledge in simulating or analyzing RF signals, environments or sensors.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, C++, or Python.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Derive requirements for RF sensor systems and perform trade studies.
  • Develop, test and verify high-fidelity physics-based simulations of sensors and environments.
  • Act as APL's representative with sponsors and contractors and collaborate with other teams.
