Job summary

Skyworks offers an internship opportunity focused on RF and microwave front-end module development. You will work with experienced engineers on designing and evaluating RF/Microwave multi-chip modules, learning advanced simulation and lab testing techniques, and presenting design reviews.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering, eligible for a 6-month onsite co-op.
  • Experience with HFSS or ADS is preferred.
  • Hands-on lab experience with RF equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design/develop RF/Microwave multi-chip modules with experienced engineers.
  • Evaluate and optimize prototypes of RF/Microwave modules.
  • Run simulations with HFSS/ADS and present design reviews.
  • Perform lab testing using standard RF test equipment and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to advance projects.

Job Description:
Required Experience and Skills
  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
  • Commitment to work onsite for 6 month co-op
  • Strong desire to learn, grow and make an impact
  • Strong career interest in RF/microwave circuits and engineering
  • Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS is highly preferred
  • Hands-on experience in a lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of transmission-line theory and circuit design is a plus
  • Experience with PCB design and layout tools is a plus
Responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Working with experienced engineers to design/develop RF/Microwave multi-chip modules
  • Evaluating and optimizing prototypes of RF/Microwave multi-chip modules
  • Running simulations using design tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, etc.
  • Participating and presenting in design reviews
  • Performing lab testing using standard RF test equipment
  • Troubleshooting and resolving design or technical issues
  • Collaborating with other engineers and technicians

Desired Experience and Skills

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
