Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Irvine is seeking a Winter/Spring 2027 RF Module Design Co-Op to participate in developing advanced RF front-end modules under experienced engineers. You will learn industry practices, run simulations, and contribute to design reviews in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on RF/microwave engineering, collaboration across teams, and opportunities to explore full-time positions within Skyworks. Onsite work from January to June 2027 is required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in EE MS/PhD program and pursuing RF focus (or related).
• Commitment to onsite 6 months (Jan–Jun 2027).
• Strong desire to learn, grow and impact Skyworks projects.
• Interest in RF/microwave engineering and electromagnetics; willing to share knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design and develop multi-chip RF modules.
• Design semi-lumped RF matching networks and integrated passive devices.
• Run simulations using HFSS/ADS; participate in design reviews.
• Perform lab testing with standard RF test equipment; troubleshoot issues.
• Work with technicians and other engineers to advance projects.

In this Winter/Spring Co-Op opportunity at Skyworks, you will learn and participate in developing advanced, state-of-the‑art RF front‑end modules, working with seasoned engineering professionals and collaborating with subject matter experts within Skyworks. Responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Working with experienced engineers to design/develop multi‑chip modules
• Designing semi‑lumped RF matching networks, integrated passive devices, couplers, etc.
• Running simulations using design tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, etc.
• Participating and presenting in design reviews
• Performing lab testing using standard RF test equipment
• Troubleshooting and resolving design or technical issues
• Collaborating with other engineers and technicians

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
• Commitment to work onsite for 6 months (January - June 2027)
• Strong desire to learn, grow and make impact
• Strong career interest in RF/microwave engineering and electromagnetics
• Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
• Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Desired Experience and Skills

• Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS is highly preferred
• Hands‑on experience in a lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of PA design is a plus

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
