Shield AI is seeking an RF and Microwave Hardware Design Engineer to deliver compact, high-performance RF modules for airborne and ground systems. You will design active and passive RF circuits, produce RF front-end assemblies, and verify performance in the lab, with production release in mind.

The role emphasizes hands-on module design over top-level architecture, with opportunities at Engineer II or Senior Engineer levels based on depth and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on RF/microwave circuit, module, or PCB design with measured verification.
• Strong knowledge of S-parameters, impedance matching, stability, and noise figures.
• Experience with RF PCB layouts including controlled impedance and grounding.

Responsibilities

• Design RF/microwave modules from requirements through production release.
• Develop active/passive RF circuits, LNA/PA, filters, switches, and mixers.
• Perform circuit and EM analysis using ADS, AWR, HFSS, CST and validate with hardware.
• Create RF/ mixed-signal PCB designs with impedance control and proper grounding.
• Characterize in lab with network/spectrum analyzers and other test equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues like instability, intermodulation, and desense.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, avionics, and manufacturing teams.
