Job summary

Southwest Research Institute's Tactical Aerospace Department seeks an experienced embedded hardware engineer to lead design and verification of avionics-grade circuits, including RF transceiver and amplifier designs.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate on digital/firmware integration, and travel to customer sites for system integration tests on MIL-SPEC flight-worthy hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Masters preferred.
• 8+ years of embedded hardware design and test experience for avionics-grade circuits.
• Experience leading hardware design teams for embedded systems.
• Experience in communication, SDR, radar and/or airborne/ground emitter systems.
• U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware designs to ensure all hardware/system requirements are met.
• Serve as RF transceiver and Amplifier circuit SME.
• Verify all architectural requirements are satisfied.
• Lead/mentor junior engineering staff in circuit designs for approved architecture.
• Lead junior staff in development and testing of embedded avionics hardware on MIL-SPEC flight-worthy hardware.
• Travel to customer sites to support final integration testing in customer System Integration Labs and/or Fielded System/Aircraft.
