Job summary

ICEYE US in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Manager of RF Hardware Engineering to lead the RF hardware, radar, and communications hardware team for SAR payloads and space vehicles. You will own RF architecture, oversee design, analysis, testing, and verification across the program lifecycle.

You will coordinate with systems, mechanical, thermal, embedded software, and FPGA teams; guide requirements derivation, performance goals, and CONOPS, and mentor engineers toward flight article

Qualifications

• 8+ years of RF hardware engineering, including spacecraft or payload design.
• 2+ years of direct engineering management or technical lead experience for RF/hardware teams.
• Deep background in RF hardware design including high-speed digitizers and antennas/arrays.
• Experience in RF test and validation including anechoic testing and data analysis.
• Experience developing RF subsystem requirements and deriving engineering requirements from mission goals.
• Proficiency in microwave/RF analysis using Python or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with SAR imaging concepts and system design.
• Advanced degree in Electrical/Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of RF hardware, radar, and communications engineers; hiring and performance development.
• Own RF subsystem program execution: scheduling, resource loading, risk tracking, status reporting.
• Set and enforce RF engineering standards, processes, and verification criteria across the lifecycle.
• Serve as RF hardware authority to cross-functional stakeholders across engineering domains.
• Own RF hardware architecture for SAR payloads and space vehicles, including transmit/receive chains and front-end subsystems.
• Direct RF hardware analysis for antennas and phased arrays (gain, beam pattern, mutual coupling).
• Guide hardware/software and hardware/firmware co-design with embedded software and FPGA teams.
• Own vehicle/payload communications hardware architecture and end-to-end link performance.
