Job summary

Astranis, a California-based satellite company, is seeking an RF Hardware Intern for Winter 2027. Interns work twelve weeks as hourly students enrolled in a four-year university, with opportunities to contribute to RF sub-systems that may fly on our first spacecraft. U.S.

citizenship or permanent residency is required. Responsibilities include design, simulation, implementation, and measurement of RF components across microwave frequencies, and integrating these systems with the spacecraft team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or related technical field.
• Passion for hardware development in a fast-paced environment with hands-on design and development.
• Deep knowledge of RF concepts (transmission lines, impedance matching, filters, active RF circuits).
• Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing RF hardware for microwave frequencies.
• Experience with RF simulation tools (ADS or HFSS).
• Experience taking RF measurements with spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, implement, and measure RF sub-systems at microwave frequencies (LNAs, power amplifiers, up/down converters, filters, oscillators).
• Integrate these systems into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team.
