Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions seeks an RF Engineer to design and implement RF systems with hands-on field work and live test support. The role blends lab, field, and customer-facing activities, including antenna deployment, RF cabling, and test instrumentation.

Responsibilities include RF benchtop testing, field experimentation, test plan development, and rigorous documentation to enable repeatable deployments. Requires US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance at a level equivalent to DOD SECRET.
• MS Degree in Electrical Engineering / Physics or BS Degree in Electrical Engineering / Physics with 3-5 years’ experience.
• Preferred: MATLAB experience, waveform data analysis, and RF hardware design familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF benchtop testing with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power meters (RF).
• Lead RF experimentation at field sites under guidance of senior engineers.
• Support setup, calibration, and operation of RF systems at field tests, including antenna deployment and test instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot RF hardware, cabling, and test equipment under time constraints in real-world conditions.
• Develop test execution plans and procedures tailored to field environments.
• Maintain configuration records for fielded test setups to enable repeatable tests.
• Interface with engineers and scientists during design of new systems.
• Travel to customer sites and deployment locations as required (up to ~25–50%).
