Job description

Location: Paramus, NJ (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

RADCOM is looking for a highly skilled and experienced RF Expert Engineer.

The Expert will work closely with the clients’ RF engineers to understand their needs and will collaborate with the head of RADCOM RAN Product to ensure the delivery of optimized solutions, leading to complete customer satisfaction.

As a key member of the RADCOM team, the RF Expert Engineer will use these state-of-the-art solutions to deliver exceptional client experiences by ensuring seamless network transitions and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This role is crucial in supporting operators as they adopt innovative technologies such as cloud-based services and 5G new RF features.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive Testing & Mobile Log Analysis: Analyze drive tests to assess user experience and coverage issues, review and interpret mobile logs to diagnose RF problems, understand call flows, and identify issues to optimize network performance.
  2. Root Cause Analysis: Investigate call flows to determine the root causes of RF issues, ensuring a thorough understanding of network behavior and driving effective resolutions.
  3. Handover Processes Analysis: Analyze handover processes, including measurement event triggers, and explain these processes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Key Features Investigation: Investigate scenarios of MIMO, Massive MIMO, and Carrier Aggregation.
  5. Spectral Efficiency & User Experience: Analyze spectral efficiency constraints and user experience issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to enhance overall network performance.
  6. 5G:
    1. 5G-SA O-RAN Interfaces: Study and describe O-RAN interfaces and the related events, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the various events across the different O-RAN interfaces.
    2. 5G-SA Core Structure: Explain the 5G-SA core structure and its relation to the 5G-SA O-RAN.
  7. Customer Engagement: Listen attentively to customer needs, provide expert guidance, and serve as a key point of contact for technical discussions. Collaborate with the RADCOM Head of Product RAN to address complex issues.
  8. Presentations & Feature Launch Analysis: Collaborate with the customer’s RF engineers, deliver presentations, and evaluate the deployment of new RF features.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher

Experience:

  1. Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in RF engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience working with RF engineers, delivering presentations, and analyzing the launch of new RF features with cellular operators.

Technical Expertise:

  1. Strong understanding of call flows, handover processes, and root cause analysis in RF environments.
  2. In-depth knowledge of O-RAN interfaces, 5G-SA core structures, and key network features such as MIMO, Massive MIMO, and Carrier Aggregation.
  3. Proven expertise in RF performance, drive testing, and mobile log analysis.

Customer Focus:

  1. Excellent customer-facing and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams and deliver technical presentations.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  1. Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze and resolve spectral efficiency and user experience issues.

Industry Knowledge:

  1. Trends and Regulations: Awareness of current trends, regulations, and innovations in the telecommunications industry that may impact software delivery and customer requirements.
