Job summary

EVONA is partnering with a manufacturer of RF and microwave amplifiers, modules, and integrated radio systems used in defense, aerospace, unmanned vehicles, and space applications. Lead a small engineering team developing new RF hardware products, coordinating technical delivery and removing roadblocks.

The role emphasizes leadership and technical guidance with minimal bench work, reporting to the Director of Engineering. Relocation candidates will be considered, with travel not required.

Qualifications

• Approximately seven to eight years of RF hardware experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work onsite in East Brunswick five days per week.
• Must meet U.S. Person requirements under ITAR due to access to export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Lead approximately four to five engineers and technicians focused on new product development.
• Plan and assign work, manage priorities and schedules, and identify risks to delivery.
• Coordinate RF amplifier and RF module projects from requirements and design reviews through verification and production handoff.
• Review technical data and help engineers evaluate design and troubleshooting options.
• Partner with Sales and Applications Engineering on requirements, statements of work, and development proposals.
• Coordinate preliminary and critical design reviews, engineering documentation, and contractor specifications.
• Work with test, quality, assembly, production, and Program Management to resolve issues and communicate progress.
• Mentor team members, set performance expectations, and support hiring and onboarding.

EVONA is partnering with a manufacturer of RF and microwave amplifiers, modules, and integrated radio systems used in defense, aerospace, unmanned vehicles, and space applications.

Lead a small engineering team developing new RF hardware products. You will coordinate technical delivery, remove roadblocks, develop team members, and guide products from requirements through verification and production planning.

The role is focused on leadership and technical guidance, with little to no hands-on bench work expected.

Reports to: Director of Engineering. No travel expected.

What you will do

• Lead approximately four to five engineers and technicians focused on new product development.
• Plan and assign work, manage priorities and schedules, and identify risks to delivery.
• Coordinate RF amplifier and RF module projects from requirements and design reviews through verification and production handoff.
• Review technical data and help engineers evaluate design and troubleshooting options.
• Partner with Sales and Applications Engineering on requirements, statements of work, and development proposals.
• Coordinate preliminary and critical design reviews, engineering documentation, and contractor specifications.
• Work with test, quality, assembly, production, and Program Management to resolve issues and communicate progress.
• Mentor team members, set performance expectations, and support hiring and onboarding.

Required experience and skills

• Approximately seven to eight years of relevant RF hardware experience at circuit, module, or product level.
• Experience in hardware product development and a production environment, with an understanding of end-to-end delivery.
• Demonstrated leadership through team management, work coordination, or mentoring engineers; a formal manager title is not essential.
• Technical judgment to review RF engineering work and help the team identify solutions.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work onsite in East Brunswick five days per week.
• Must meet U.S. Person requirements under ITAR due to access to export-controlled technical data.

Preferred experience

• Direct RF power-amplifier experience; related radio or RF hardware backgrounds will also be considered.
• Experience managing a similar small engineering team and delivering RF assemblies for government customers or prime contractors.
• CAD familiarity for reviewing engineering work; master’s degree in a related field.
