Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO seeks a junior RF Engineer to support the telecom subsystem for multiple deep-space missions, including OSIRIS-APEX and JUNO, within the Deep Space Exploration Mission Operations group.

You will predict subsystem performance, monitor real-time data, assist systems engineering for spacecraft sequences, review test results, and maintain performance databases while collaborating with subsystem experts and customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Familiarity with microwave RF subsystem design and hardware.
• Familiarity with programming (MATLAB, Python, or scripting).
• US Citizenship required for access to the program.

Responsibilities

• Produce predictions of subsystem performance for future operations and monitor real-time telecom data.
• Provide subsystem inputs to systems engineering for spacecraft sequences and review sequences for correct operation.
• Review test results from spacecraft labs and simulators for proper use of telecom elements.
• Maintain a database of current and long-term subsystem performance data.

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a junior RF Engineer to join our team in Littleton, CO! In this exciting role, you will support the Deep Space Exploration Mission Operations group as the Telecom subsystem engineer supporting multiple flying missions in the Littleton Mission Support Area. The missions include the Origins Spectral Interpretation Resource Identification Security Regolith explorer (OSIRIS-APEX), JUNO, and potentially others during primary and extended missions.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Producing predictions of subsystem performance during future operations, monitoring real-time telecom subsystem performance, trending subsystem performance, analysis of problems and documentation of problems to include corrective actions.
• Providing subsystem inputs to systems engineering for spacecraft sequence development and review the resulting sequences for correct operation of the subsystem, for both nominal and special event sequences.
• Reviewing test results from spacecraft test labs and simulators for proper use and functionality of telecom elements.
• Maintaining a database of current and long-term subsystem trending and performance data.
• Maintaining and updating software tools for sequence review, performance prediction and other tasks.
• Supporting team meetings and periodic reviews.
• Working irregular work hours in support of science activities and spacecraft recovery to nominal operations.
• Supporting other Deep Space Exploration flying missions and proposal support as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Familiarity with or coursework with microwave RF subsystem design and hardware, including one or more of the following: receivers, exciters, transponders, couplers, hybrids, RF switches, isolators, attenuators, antennas and/or waveguides.
• Familiarity with programming (e.g. in MATLAB, Python, or knowledge of other scripting languages).
• This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.

Desired Skills

• Experience in performing RF link analysis and prediction, as well as RF subsystem performance analysis.
• Experience in a satellite operational environment, including troubleshooting link problems and determining root causes to link anomalies in real-time.
• Ability to work irregular hours in support of planned science activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, interacting with other subsystem experts, systems engineers and customers in a timely and effective manner.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00
