TITLE: RF Engineer / IBW Consultant - Senior

LOCATION: Washington, DC/ Onsite

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 11 years

Job Description:

8-11 years of experience in RF and Information Technology. Provides assessments of technical and operational practices based on leading industry standards specific to the requested technology.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides assessments of technical and operational practices associated with upgrades and system changes based on leading industry standards specific to the requested technology.
  2. Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of IT hardware products.
  3. Develops test strategies, devices, and systems.
  4. Performs stress and performance tests on a variety of computer hardware including circuit boards, processors, and wiring.
  5. Provide IT Department support services including System and Radio Technology, Dispatch Operations, network system support and operations, subscriber radio maintenance and support, and all other agency applications.
  6. Provide IT Support for Mobile Routers including router imaging, installation, minor repairs, software updates, performance reports, and bi-annual maintenance.
  7. Provide IT support for MVPN-NetMotion, including connectivity monitoring and reporting, software updates, performance reporting, and troubleshooting.
  8. Provide IT support for System and Network Infrastructure, including monitoring alarms and escalations.

Skills:

  1. SME in complex enterprise-level projects. Required 8 Years
  2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or related field or equivalent experience. Required
  3. Experience working in LMR radio communications systems and DAS systems. Required 5 Years
  4. Interoperable radio experience. Required 3 Years
  5. Experience with RF engineering tools to simulate 4G and LMR coverage analysis. Required 3 Years
  6. Experience in drive testing P25 radio systems and 4G/5G cellular systems. Required 3 Years
  7. Radio network coverage and interference analysis experience. Required 3 Years
  8. Experience in developing fleetmaps, code plugs, and programming radios for public safety. Desired 2 Years
  9. Experience in In-building wireless systems design, implementation, testing, monitoring, and interference management. Required 3 Years
  10. Experience in troubleshooting wireless systems including LMR, 4G/5G, and DAS. Required 3 Years
  11. Experience with public safety infrastructure. Required 3 Years
  12. Experience with P25 radio network. Required 3 Years
  13. Experience and knowledge of public safety communications and interoperability. Required 3 Years
  14. Experience and knowledge with LTE and P25 standard practices. Required 1 Year
  15. Experience and knowledge of DAS operations. Required 3 Years
  16. Experience and knowledge of wireless communications - combination of theory and practice. Required 6 Years
  17. Experience with IT principles, methods, practices & concepts associated with system security, and technical documentation methods & procedures. Required 2 Years
  18. Designing, developing, and testing computer systems and components. Required 11 Years
  19. Experience participating in developing recommendations on trends & new technologies within the context of agency policies, plans, and management strategies. Required 2 Years
  20. Experience with IT security principles, methods, and tools to participate in defining IT security requirements & support security applications. Desired 2 Years
  21. Experience with operating systems installation and configuration procedures to assist in installing & maintaining the operating system environment. Desired 2 Years
  22. Experience with network standards, and network management tools to perform routine network configuration management functions. Desired 2 Years

Compensation: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
