Job Summary

As an RF/Electrical Engineer at Lynk, you will handle diverse tasks related to radio frequencies, electronics, hardware, and software. Your responsibilities include analyzing, designing, implementing, optimizing, and enhancing our nanosatellite communications payload and future constellation network. Key tasks involve link budget analysis, system dimensioning, coverage planning, frequency planning, interference mitigation, hardware/software testing, and working with software-defined radios, single-board computers, FPGAs, SoCs, processors, LNAs, and filters. You will also participate in payload antenna design and assembly, using tools like spectrum analyzers, soldering equipment, and RF simulators.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design spacecraft payload hardware and software components.
  • Select and design nanosatellite antenna systems.
  • Develop link budgets, simulations, and RF system designs.
  • Support payload integration, testing, and delivery.
  • Plan ground testing configurations for payload performance.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering on constellation architecture.
  • Perform bench-level electronics testing and prototyping.
  • Conduct systems engineering analyses related to software systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation for payload development.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in RF or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with space payload hardware/software, especially communications systems.
  • Hands-on experience with software-defined radios, antennas, FPGAs, GPUs, CPUs, SoCs, and single-board computers.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C++, C, Python, MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog and FPGA tools (Altera/Xilinx).
  • Electrical design skills, e.g., using Altium, are a plus.
  • Understanding of RF air interfaces and multiple access schemes.
  • Experience integrating hardware/software systems.
  • Proficient with Windows, Mac, Linux, and MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (IP, TCP/IP, Ethernet, LTE, etc.) is desirable.
