Job summary

What YOU will do

• Perform circuit design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, circuit design analysis (performance, stability, ESD/Lightning, decoupling, signal/power integrity), creation of board stack‑up and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root‑cause analysis, and integration.
• Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within communication systems and test solutions in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Develop engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analysis.
• Contribute to the completion of all stages of communication system and test system development. Assist in managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications.

Qualifications you must have

• Typically requires a STEM degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Proven experience in electronic circuit and hardware development, including digital electronics, schematic capture, hardware integration, and hands‑on testing and troubleshooting of circuit card assemblies.
• Proficiency with engineering tools and test equipment such as logic analyzers, interface adapters (JTAG, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet), RF test equipment (RF Spectrum Analyzers, RF Network Analyzers, RF Power Meters, RF Switches), oscilloscopes, and ECAD/PCB design tools (NX ECAD, DX Designer/Expedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD, etc.).
• Knowledge of ensuring robust hardware performance, including signal integrity and timing analysis, FPGA/SoC design and testing, and Agile development environments (e.g., Jira).
• Experience designing and developing electric and electronic circuits and systems for communication systems.
• Strong knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF), testing, schematic capture, circuit design, and hardware selection and integration.
