Job summary

Insight Global’s client is seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to design, debug, and integrate RF systems for highly autonomous consumer products. The role emphasizes RF PCB design, hardware integration, and lab debugging in a high-volume consumer electronics context.

Onsite in San Mateo, CA, five days a week with limited remote options; MS in EE required and 5-8 years of RF experience are preferred. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to take designs from concept through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of RF engineering experience (strong preference for mobile phone or similar consumer electronics)
• Deep understanding of RF fundamentals, including: impedance matching, RF PCB design and routing, EMI/EMC mitigation
• Hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth, and GPS

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF PCBs and hardware systems across multiple wireless technologies and frequency bands
• Perform RF circuit design (not layout-only) including analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
• Conduct lab bench work including debugging, desense analysis, and system characterization
• Own RF design through the full product lifecycle: concept, validation, certification, and manufacturing
• Identify and mitigate noise, EMI/EMC, and coupling issues at both PCB and system levels
• Collaborate closely with EE, RF, antenna, and product development teams
• Support manufacturing processes, bring-up, and production testing
