Job summary

OSI Engineering in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Wireless RF Compliance Validation Engineer (RSE) to join its Wireless Systems and Compliance Engineering team. You will perform regulatory characterization and demonstrate compliance for new products with advanced radio technologies.

Responsibilities include translating emission requirements into test cases, coordinating with Regulatory Compliance teams, developing validation plans, debugging, and assisting third-party labs during final certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with RF transceiver parametrics and RF components.
• Hands-on with lab equipment such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Characterization of wireless products towards compliance of WW requirements.
• Perform initial HW/SW bring up on Prototype Hardware.
• Debug/FA Wireless compliance issues and collaborate with HW/design teams to implement fixes.
• Define and implement RF test plans and RF test automation.
• Assist in planning and delivering final certification testing at third-party labs.
• Review schematics/layout and propose HW fixes.

Job description

A globally leading consumer device company headquartered in Santa Clara, CA is looking for a Wireless RF Compliance Validation Engineer (RSE) to join their team. Wireless Systems and Compliance Engineering team is looking for an RF Compliance Validation Engineer to perform RF regulatory characterization and demonstrate regulatory compliance for new products with advanced radio technologies.

• DescriptionYou will validate emission test cases for different regulatory domains in certification test setups.
• You will translate world-wide emission requirements into test cases and coordinate those with Regulatory Compliance teams to ensure that product validation covers all certification tests.
• You will define and implement validation plans for regulatory-facing software features.
• You will perform debugging of marginal/failure tests and will interact with multi-functional teams like RFHW/Antenna/Product Design/EE/etc. to drive design changes and address issues.
• You will maintain test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc.
• You will help Regulatory Compliance teams in planning and delivering final certification testing at 3rd party test labs.
• Responsibilities: Characterization of wireless products towards compliance of WW requirements.

• Debug/FA Wireless compliance related issues. Collaborate with HW Design, FEM Vendors, Chipset vendors, Antenna, Product design, etc. to come up with HW fixes.
• Perform Schematic/layout reviews and HW fixes via mockups.
• Driving Chipset design requirements based on RF/Regulatory compliance requirements
• Defining & implementing various SW/FW features including: Regulatory Power tables, etc.
• Perform RF/EM Simulations for Schematic/Layout, etc using industry leading simulation tools
• Review World-wide Wireless Regulatory/Compliance specs and develop test plans.
• Define RF Test Automation requirements & work with internal automation team towards automation development
• Minimum QualificationsMaster’s Degree with 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience and in-depth understanding of System Transceiver RF Parametric and RF component level characteristics and behaviors.
• Working experience with lab equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and call boxes (i.e., CMW/8960/UXM).
• Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Detailed understanding of at least one Wireless technology including 5G FR1, FR2, GSM, UMTS, CDMA, LTE, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, Bluetooth, Thread, UWB, NFC is a plus.
• Understanding of Antenna characteristics impact to radiated testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with radiated test setups, radiated chamber calibration and use are also a plus.
• Proficiency in MATLAB programming, or, ADS, CST, HFSS simulation is a plus
• Knowledge on worldwide Regulatory standards in relation to carry a product to certification is a plus.
